I know many of you want to have Heavy Bag at your home so that you can practice all the punching and kicking moves at home to help improve your boxing or Muay Thai skills faster. But only having it might not be enough to reach your goal. You will have to know how to work out with it and that is what I’m going to talk about below.

If you have been working with Heavy Bag at a gym or somewhere else before, you must realize that it is not as easy as it seems. Knowing how to properly use a heavy bag is quite crucial. There are something you need to do before and during using the bag. Here we go!

Starting with wrapping your hands real good and put on bag training gloves, MMA gloves are also good for this purpose. When you start striking the bag, keep your wrist aligned with your forearm and punch with the top of knuckles.

The clip below shows you how to punch the bag. And I think it is pretty nice, thanks to the guy who made it.

How to hit the Bag

How to hit the Heavy Bag VDO from YouTube.com

When punching the bag, you can also do other boxing exercises at the same time. In different schools, the students might be taught differently but all the technique will work the same.

Here are the list of the things you must do while training with bag.

- Wrap your hands real good.

- Keep your hands guard all the time. Do not drop your hand down.

- Treat the bag as if it is a person that can hit you back.

- Practice some quick moves. You might create something for your own.

However, it’s not that necessary to buy yourself a heavy bag since it’s not that cheap. You can train with the bag at the gym you regularly go to. But if you insist, you can find it at any big sport store near your place or online.

Welcome! I’m sure there are still many people don’t know what and where is Krung Thep. But when I say “Bangkok”, you all will be “oh yeah” Bangkok. One thing I still don’t get is, I realize not so many people know that Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand. But that might be because Thailand is such a small country. With that I totally agree. But this same small country is rich of beautiful culture, peace, fun and beauty. Well for the peace one is not really true now, since the political situation right now.

The word “Krung Thep” is the Thai name for Bangkok which literally means “City of Angels”. Pretty, right? But Krung Thep right now is not so pretty as it was before. Bangkok is the biggest and the most populous city of Thailand. There are like 10 million people living in this little city. Imagine how crowded it is.

Good thing about living in Bangkok or I believe in any big city in the world is that you have pretty much everything provided. There are always things for you to do and you will never get bored. But the better it is become comparing to the other provinces, the more and more people want to come to the city. So the only bad thing in my opinion about Krung Thep is that it is over populated with people, not angels.

If you get a chance to visit Bangkok, don’t forget to go visit our Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew, the Buddhist temple located in the Grand Palace. These two places are a must to visit. But if this is not your first time anymore, Bangkok is just another big city that is full of clubs, restaurant, shopping malls, all those things that you can find anywhere in the world. However, what is so special and makes this city distinctive to the other big cities is the people. And nothing to tell you much about that, you just have to experience that yourself and you will understand.

Bangkok could be another of your best choices to travel and enjoy your vacation!

Have you seen Ong Bak before? If you have, you must be just like me and the rest of Muay Thai movies fans. I just can’t wait the see the next Ong Bak movie by Tony Jaa who directs and stars in this second movie. And after some problems from making the movie and the budget happen to Tony Jaa, the movie has been postponed but right now we know when it will be released, Dec 4th is the final!

Tony Jaa is back to finish the movie. And right now the shooting and the set has been great that they expect to finish soon. The release date is now confirmed since it had to be postponed.

I’m sure he wants it to be perfect and we all want that the same. The problems between Jaa and his parent company are now solved. We all want to see the 100 percent completed film. No matter what have happened, just finish this movie because it can definitely sell. It’s not everyone can do the same as Jaa can anyway.

In this second movie, Jaa combines ancient dance with the fight. What it will look like we all wonder, but it’s going to be good for sure since Jaa is the one who performs it.

I can guarantee the result.

Bound-Fist Boxing or Muay Thai Kaad Cheuk was almost the original of any boxing history. This type of boxing of using Hand Wraps around the fists was developed from just Bare-Fist Boxing or Bare-Fist Muay which was the real beginning of Muay. Until today, no one can really tell when it was developed, but what the heck, starting to wraps the hands was because of 2 reasons. First was for the extra strength while attacking and second was for protects the hands and other organs like fingers and wrists from getting serious injuries. These days we don’t have to worry about that because we now use boxing gloves for those purposes.

Even when they did Kaad Cheuk or “wrapping hands with ropes”, it didn’t make the sport much less dangerous. Whorls or coils were also inserted under the rope that were wrapped on the back of the knuckles to make their fists become deadly dangerous that could easily cause seriously injured wounds. And that really makes sense because a lot of boxers back then got killed because of the nasty wounds they got from joining the sport.

Since 1923, the brutal Muay Thai Kaad Cheuk was abandoned. However, if you want to see the real Muay Thai Kaad Cheuk today, that is still possible. Every year in the north of Thailand, Muay Thai Kaad Cheuk boxers from Thailand and Burma come to this even where they did the Bound-Fist Boxing. But that’s only once a year. Another choice is to find the underground bound fist Muay fights.

Each day, there are less and less boxers interested in this type of boxing. That must be because of its consequences are not really pleasant and less money paid than fighting in famous boxing stadiums. So what’s the point of keep doing it now? The only group of people who still loves it is the one that enjoys the brutality or maybe loves original things.

Just like most of great Thai boxers, they all grew up in up-country in some far away province and had a really rough life from the beginning. Buakaw started to train Muay thai since he was only 8 years old and joined Por. Pramuk gym at the age of 15 only.

All his life is about fighting in ring. So no wonder while he has a lot of experiences and skills and became all that winners. You will be surprised when you see his record. His boxing record from 18 years of fighting is 185 wins (46 KO’s and 138 Decisions), 12 Deaws and 19 Losses only. He has fought more than 200 matches in the right already. Don’t have to talk about his experience. Even if later on he wants to end it, he can still continue by helping training new boxers with great pride.

Here are his titles:
2006 K-1 World MAX champion
2006 WMC Middleweight World champion
2005 S-1 Super-Welterweight World champion
2005 K-1 World MAX Finalist
2004 K-1 World MAX champion
2003 KOMA GP Lightweight champion
2002 Toyota Muay Thai marathon tournament 140 lb. class winner
Lumpinee Stadium Lightweight 2nd Place
Omnoi Stadium Lightweight champion
2001 Muay Thai Authority of Thailand Featherweight Champion
Omnoi Stadium Featherweight champion

The guy still has a really bright future ahead of him if he can always keep practicing hard and stay fit and firm. Watch his next fight at Eindhoven, Netherlands in November. We will bring you all the information right here. Stay in touch!
