Monday, 4. August 2008

Only less than a week now and what we have been waiting for will start. People around the world know that China has done and has spent an enormous bunch of money preparing for it and we will all see how it turns out really soon.

Now let’s talk a bit about the boxing events since this is Muay Thai Talk website. Boxing has been contested at every Summer Olympic Games, including this one in Beijing, since it was first introduced at the 1904 Summer Olympics. What is interesting about the Boxing in Olympics is that the only one time that Boxing was not included in the Games was at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm because the country at that time banned the sport.

And what really interesting again about the boxing in this Olympic Games in China is it will be the last time that only male boxing events can join. That’s right the next Summer Olympics which will be held in London, England allows women’s boxing into the program.

Now let’s see the list of the boxing events on the program of Games of the XXIX Olympiad, 2008. All men boxing!

- Heavyweight (81-91 kg)
